Balor Arts Centre

'The Great Divide', a solo exhibition of contemporary Oil Paintings by Donegal born artist Maria Noonan-McDermott will be held in the Balor Arts Centre, Main Street, Ballybofey, Co. Donegal 25th Feburary—29th March 2002.

This exhibition focuses primarily on Ireland and the impact of the Celtic Tiger phenomenon. 

The paintings depict Ireland of old, its constancy and rural ethnicity contrasting starkly with modern cosmopolitan culture, and the intrinsic “richness” and depths of a developed society. Combining stylised rendering of Irish landscapes and figurative imagery of city life the exhibition examines a diverse cross-section of modern Ireland.
